FROM THE DESK OF THE PRINCIPAL
Welcome to the new academic session 2017 – 2018, as we reach yet another milestone - our first batch of Grade XII students, preparing to crack the board exams.
This year you can look forward to encountering a highly intensive and challenging academic program that will push the students to work beyond their limits. The CBSE board has done a major change by shifting from the CCE to a uniform system of assessments for classes VI to X. The scheme for these classes has been designed on term assessment, with a gradual increase in the learning. This would prepare the students to cover the whole syllabus of the academic year, and face the challenge of the class X board exam. The students will also be assessed for discipline, which will be based on factors like attendance, sincerity, behavior values, and respect for rules and regulations. Kindly read the new assessment pattern very carefully in the Almanac.
We live in transformational times, which is why today the moral and ethical foundation of education is important. We are certain that children’s success and fulfillment in life will have a direct correlation with their emotional intelligence, attitudes and value systems.
This year I am looking to introduce a green curriculum, where becoming a green school is not just a matter of studying environmental sustainability or introducing recycling. It is a matter of developing social consciousness across the school and transforming learning in the process.
Education is a joint venture between school and home. As we work with our students to help them learn about the world through the prescribed syllabus,we very much appreciate the support that parents give their children at home, as they shine to reach their learning goals.
It continues to be my priority to ensure that students have a safe positive environment and to make sure the quality of instruction is second to none. Our staff will continue to participate in ongoing professional development and deliver the most relevant curriculum and instruction to the students.
On behalf of the staff, I want to welcome all of you and thank you for being a part of the school community - where in DPS Whitefield
“Success is not an option…But an expectation”.
